Managed Cloud 3.0 and Reseller Cloud 3.0 Servers Have Been Launched

We have renewed our managed virtual server portfolio and launched the new Managed Cloud 3.0 and Reseller Cloud 3.0 server products for our customers. With this update, both product categories now offer server solutions based on either UpCloud or Hetzner infrastructure, allowing customers to choose the platform that best suits their needs.

The reason for this renewal is that during the spring and early summer, Hetzner significantly increased the pricing of its Hetzner Cloud infrastructure. As a result, we could no longer continue offering the Managed Cloud 2.0 and Reseller Cloud 2.0 products to new customers.

The price increases have been driven by the rapid growth in demand for server hardware—particularly memory and SSD storage—caused by the expanding AI market, which has led to a substantial increase in hardware costs.

Our goal was to redesign the product range while maintaining the best possible price-to-performance ratio for our managed server offerings. For Hetzner-based servers, this meant moving from the previous General Purpose instances to the Regular Performance product line. At the same time, the pricing of UpCloud's Cloud Native product range enabled us to once again offer UpCloud as a highly competitive alternative for our Managed Cloud 3.0 and Reseller Cloud 3.0 servers. Going forward, customers are free to choose whether they want their server to run on UpCloud or Hetzner infrastructure.

Existing Server Products

Existing Managed Cloud 1.0 / Reseller Cloud 1.0 (UpCloud) and Managed Cloud 2.0 / Reseller Cloud 2.0 (Hetzner) servers will remain available to current customers for as long as the infrastructure providers maintain their existing pricing.

For Hetzner-based servers, this means that if Hetzner also changes the pricing of existing General Purpose instances in the future (with increases currently expected to be in the range of 200–300%), we will automatically upgrade affected 2.0server products to the corresponding 3.0 products. The same applies if a customer requests an upgrade to a larger server, as such upgrades will require migration directly to the 3.0 product line.

For UpCloud-based servers, upgrading existing Managed Cloud 1.0 or Reseller Cloud 1.0 servers to the new 3.0 generation is already financially beneficial for most customers. The new 3.0 servers provide a significantly better price-to-performance ratio than the original 1.0 products. We will upgrade UpCloud servers to the new 3.0 platform upon customer request.
