Warning about scam messages related to domain renewal

In recent weeks, we have become aware of several scam and phishing messages related to domain renewal. These messages may claim that a payment related to a customer’s domain renewal or a “renewal notification service” is becoming due.

The sender of the message may appear as, for example, DMS Finland or another party that is not the actual registrar of your domain.

If you have not ordered a “domain renewal notification service” from DMS Finland, do not pay the invoice or click any links in the message. If you have registered your domain through Hostaan, we take care of domain renewals and you do not need any separate renewal notification service. In this case, there is no need to pay other parties, such as DMS Finland, for domain registration or renewal.

If you receive a domain renewal message from DMS Finland or another party from whom you have not ordered a service

• Do not click any links in the message
• Do not enter your personal, card, or payment details on any pages opened through the message
• Do not pay the invoice mentioned in the message
• Delete the message
